AKB48 Cast In Ultraman Movie

A total of seven members of AKB48 have been cast to be in the new Ultraman movie “Ultraman Saga”.

The members are Akimoto Sayaka, Miyazawa Sae, Umeda Ayaka, Masuda Yuka, Kobayashi Kana, onetime Morning Musume, now rising up the AKB48 ranks Sato Sumire, and Shimada Haruka. The AKB48 members will create the “Earth Defense Force Unit U” .This is the first time that the series has had an “Earth Defense Force” .EDF- U will join with Ultraman Zero,Dyna and Cosmos to defend the earth from attacking aliens.

Sayaka will be the leader of EDF-U, Sae will be the assault unit captain, Ayaka will play the vice-leader, Yuka and Kana will be the maintenance team, while Sumire will be the medical officer and Haruka will handle communications.

Sayaka when asked about AKB48 taking part in the movie responded by saying “I think it’s our mission to give people courage after the disasters.”

With the Ultraman films being a big budget and highly popular film series, this will be a golden opportunity to spread the name of AKB48 members in a non idol way.

The film will debut in theaters next year on March 24

AKB48 Team K member Akimoto Sayaka received some very good news, after resigning her leadership role after her scandal in October, has been focusing on other things, one being the “Tokyo Marathon” which she finished in a time of 6 hours, 50 minutes, and 6 seconds.

A number of AKB48 members were either in attendance or in the live broadcast studio showing their support, however the biggest news if the day was not her marathon run, it was that Akimoto has once again been made captain of Team K.

Sayaka posted this message for her fans.


Today I ran in the Tokyo Marathon. It was beautiful seeing the backs of everybody who was doing their best. I was able to receive encouragement from people on the sidelines of the route, the other runners, the AKB members and fans. If it was not for them, I do not think I would have been able to run 42.195 kilometers. The orchestra even played “Aitakatta” and “Heavy Rotation”. They are songs that we generally sing and now they were used to cheer me on, it made me cry.

Everyone was so kind. It was like Japan in the olden days…Something that the current Japan has lost… You could really see the relationships between so many people today. Sae, Yuka, Ume-chan, and all of the members…thank you so much. Thank you to everyone who gave me support and to my fans. I was able to finish this because of you all. I am sorry for always troubling you guys. In the end, I got an e-mail from Akimoto-sensei telling me I was Team K’s captain again. I was so surprised… I am a bit anxious, but I will do my very best to be a great captain from scratch. 

To all of the fans who I have worried and to the members, Akimoto Sayaka will do her best from scratch. Thank you so much. I have learned more about myself through running the marathon. I have started to like marathons now running is fun!! I would like to run it again… Runners, volunteers, everyone involved in the Tokyo Marathon!! Good work today!! We made it to the goal!!

Uchida words echoed what all Team K members wrote and that was "For us, only Sayaka-chan can be our captain, so we’re really glad. Let’s do our best together again!"

Sorry for being late in posting this.

Akimoto Sayaka who has for the last couple of days has found herself in a scandal .The tabloids spotted Hiroi Ouji leaving her home in the early morning hours after being there overnight.

Now before everyone reads more into this then it is. Mainstream media, the agencies and all parties involved proved that nothing was going on with the 56-year-old director and the 22-year-old leader of Team K.

However, the event did cause Sayaka to face the responsibilities of the events.

On “AKB48 no all night Nippon” Sayaka removed herself as leader of Team K, She will stay with AKB48 and Team K as a member.

“I am responsible for the earlier report about the rumor with Hiroi Ouji-san. He is our stage director who I respect; I have asked Hiroi-san for help on our stage performance of “Izumi Kyouka” since this summer. I have been to his house, and he has been to my house. I did not think anything of it, because Hiroi-san lives with his daughter, and I live with Umeda Ayaka. Moreover, since Hiroi-san is older than my father is, I have never thought of him as a male. The day we promised to have dinner together for discussions about acting, my work finished too late, therefore he came over to my house. We kept talking about acting, but he fell asleep after a while, so Ume-chan and I decided to let him keep sleeping. I am woeful that it sounds like I am making excuses. I am sorry for all the fans who support me, and for AKB members… I am sorry. This became such a big issue, and it is my entire fault. I should be the role model for other members, but I am not qualified as a captain anymore. Therefore, I will resign as the captain of team K.”

The Uncut Beginner PV will be sold starting Oct 27 ,through Cell Phone Only .It will not be for sale for anyone living outside Japan.

King Records feels that because the PV upset a great number of their younger female fans at the lives, mostly Maeda fans seeing her in great pain ,that the video could not be released. Maeda was not the main reason ,so don`t blame her.
