Kashiwagi Yuki Gets Anime Voice Job

AKB48/French Kiss member Kashiwagi Yuki has landed her first voice actress job and it`s a support role to the main character. Yuki has been cast  as the main character Bossun’s younger sister, Rumi for the anime “SKET DANCE“, which starts on April 7th.

Yuki made these comments about her new voice-acting job.

   “It was really hard. I received advice from professional voice actors and worked extremely hard. You have to be aware of things like speaking groggily if it is a scene in the morning, which is something people do not normally notice, so the recording was extremely difficult. It made me appreciate how an anime is made.”

“SKET DANCE” is a popular manga that is serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” which is known for other popular works such as Naruto, BLEACH, and ONE PIECE.

“SKET DANCE” is about a group of students known as the Sket Dan. Sket Dan members attempt to solve the problems of the staff and classmates at their school.

AKB48 Sub unit French Kiss will also be singing the theme song for “SKET DANCE“ 

When asked about the manga and her unit singing the opening theme, Yuki said the following.

  “I think ‘SKET DANCE’ is popular because of the chaos that Sket Dan creates on campus. That part is similar to AKB48. We are very happy and honored to sing the opening theme for an anime with so many funny and moving moments.”

Trying to play a little news catch up today.

AKB48’s sub-unit, Watarirouka Hashiritai has added two new members. The new members are Komori Mika and Iwasa Misaki .The group has officially changed its name to Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 to reflect the size of the new line up.

There is some confusion in the fan base as to if this is a fulltime change. Some of the members have hinted at this being a one-time event related to their radio show.

Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 will be releasing a new single on February 2, 2011 and will be a Valentine’s song produced by Akimoto Yasushi.  The highly famous lyricist, broadcaster, and producer, has written lyrics for a number of major male and female performing artists. Akimoto`s most popular valentine’s theme song was Kokusho Sayuri’s “Valentine Kiss.”

No title at this time has been announced or buying details.

AKB48`s Itano Tomomi is releasing her first solo single.

The single will be called “Dear J“, and will be released on January 26th .Itano said at a recent handshake event that “Dear J”  will be a “dance song”, and she also said, “Since I’m always with the members, I feel a little pressured, but debuting solo has been my dream, so please continue to support me.”

Sub Unit French Kiss will be releasing their second single, “If“, on January 19.
If will come in three different versions and Takajo Aki, will be doing Kyudo (archery) on the drama DVD version.

Maeda Atsuko will be in the July 2011 film release of “Moshimo Koukou Yakyu no Joshi Manager ga Drucker no “Management” wo Yondara ., also known as “Moshidora” .Moshidora is a best seller novel about a high school girl who is the manager of a struggling High School baseball team . Maeda, who plays Kawashima Minami, will take up the challenge of leading this team to the National Championships, by using strategies that she learns by reading a business book.

The Manga version is called “SUPER JUMP” and come out on December 22. The anime version will start airing March 2011.

January 19 French kiss (Kashiwagi Yuki, Takajo Aki, and Kuramochi Asuka) will release their second single “If” .As part of their promotions if you but the single you will also receive an original live-action drama DVD, based on popular manga series “Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu“!

Incase you have never heard of this manga “Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu” is popular among teen girls; AKB48 is reported to be big fans of this series.

French kiss will also be providing the official theme and voices for the upcoming digital version of the manga.

The digital version will come out on February 25.

AKB48 sub unit French Kiss, made up of former 8th generation Morning Musume audition hopeful Kashiwagi Yuki [lead singer], Takajo Aki and Kuromachi Asuka,have released their debut single PV “Zutto Mae Kara". This does not have the feel of a traditional idol single .It`s a very professionally done video that as the theme song for the baseball themed anime "Major" is good enough to draw mainstream buyers.

As part of the singles packaging Type A comes with a 40-minute mini drama.


As part of their release campaign on September 11 at Makuhari Messe Kokusai Tenjijou Tenji Hall 7, you can play baseball with French Kiss.

This event is open to fans that purchase their debut CD titled “Zutto Mae Kara” which will be released on September 8.

At this event, the members of French Kiss will be using a pitching machine and fans will get one chance to swing the bat to hit the ball. The event will last 9 innings, 50 minutes per inning from 9:00 to 20:00 JST

Participating Rule: Must bring in the ticket that is included in the CD

New Unit: French Kiss

AKB48 Has a new sub unit in the name of French Kiss. French Kiss is made up of the following members of AKB48, Kuramochi Asuka, Kawashigi Yuki [Former Morning Musume audition candidate] and Takajou Aki.

Together these women have come together with AVEX Entertainment to create French Kiss .French Kiss first single will be called “zutto mae kara” and will be the ending song for the anime 'Major'.

Some of you maybe wondering how these three were selected for this unit. The simple answer is they all belong to an agency called Watanabe .Because the members of AKB48 are under contract to independent agencies, they are normally doing things independent of or with the blessing of AKB48, leading to their growing popularity.


Their single will start as the ending theme on July 3
