AKB48 member Itano Tomomi, who released her first solo single “Dear J” on January 26, has set another record for AKB48. Itano`s solo single sold 163,000 copies in it`s first week ,making Itano the first female artist to break 150,000 units since Utada Hikaru’s single, “Flavor Of Life”, nearly four years ago. Itano also became the first member of a girl group to sale 150,000 since Goto Maki sold 268,000 copies of “Ai no Bakayarou” ten years ago.

AKB48’s Itano Tomomi shocked her 100,000 followers on twitter by “debuting” her 15-year-old younger sister. The older Itano posed with her little sister for a series of two shots.

For sometime now Itano`s fans have wanted to see her sister, for an idol to do so is vary rare. Morning Musume`s Kamei Eri did not even mention that she had a sister, until H!P wotas discovered that her little sister is a model ,forcing a brief mention.

Itano`s two shot sent her legion of followers into a frenzy of madness  and for the younger Itano a ready fan base ,who immediately started asking big sister if the younger Itano is going to make her  idol debut soon.

Itano`s fans  have already declared their loyalty to her younger sister and have gone so far as to proclaim “she would become one of the top girls if she joined akb48” .

One of the oddities with idol genre is that you can never tell ,if something posted is just a random twitter or blog post or something more. Everything that idols do is closely watched and many are speculating between Tomomi simply responding to her fans requests ,with a fan service two shot with her sister or Tomomi supporting her sister through her fans ,with a “pre-debut photo”.

For what ever her reasons ,Tomomi has launched her younger sister into the world of wota worship .

Will we see more of the younger sister in the weeks to come ? For now here are the double Itano`s .

In a stunning release AKB48`s Itano Tomomi first solo release “Dear J” CD covers have been released and they are nothing short of artistic stunning. If you like to collect CD covers, it`s worth getting the single just for the covers.

The single will be released on January 26 and will come in “Type-A”, “Type-B”, and “Type-C” editions, all of which will include a DVD .The PV will also be included in each edition, with separate bonus DVD footage for each release. To complete the deal each type will have different coupling tracks.

Trying to play a little news catch up today.

AKB48’s sub-unit, Watarirouka Hashiritai has added two new members. The new members are Komori Mika and Iwasa Misaki .The group has officially changed its name to Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 to reflect the size of the new line up.

There is some confusion in the fan base as to if this is a fulltime change. Some of the members have hinted at this being a one-time event related to their radio show.

Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 will be releasing a new single on February 2, 2011 and will be a Valentine’s song produced by Akimoto Yasushi.  The highly famous lyricist, broadcaster, and producer, has written lyrics for a number of major male and female performing artists. Akimoto`s most popular valentine’s theme song was Kokusho Sayuri’s “Valentine Kiss.”

No title at this time has been announced or buying details.

AKB48`s Itano Tomomi is releasing her first solo single.

The single will be called “Dear J“, and will be released on January 26th .Itano said at a recent handshake event that “Dear J”  will be a “dance song”, and she also said, “Since I’m always with the members, I feel a little pressured, but debuting solo has been my dream, so please continue to support me.”

Sub Unit French Kiss will be releasing their second single, “If“, on January 19.
If will come in three different versions and Takajo Aki, will be doing Kyudo (archery) on the drama DVD version.

Maeda Atsuko will be in the July 2011 film release of “Moshimo Koukou Yakyu no Joshi Manager ga Drucker no “Management” wo Yondara ., also known as “Moshidora” .Moshidora is a best seller novel about a high school girl who is the manager of a struggling High School baseball team . Maeda, who plays Kawashima Minami, will take up the challenge of leading this team to the National Championships, by using strategies that she learns by reading a business book.

The Manga version is called “SUPER JUMP” and come out on December 22. The anime version will start airing March 2011.
