Manaminorisa First Solo Concert

Recently I introduced here a rising group out of Hiroshima called Manaminorisa .On Oct 2 they held their first one-man [solo] concert .The concert was at a tiny live house in Hiroshima BACK BEAT and was broadcast live on USTREAM and later archived.

The concert features the group in a full 90+ minute live concert , complete with costume changes , a bad sound echo at times [common for venues under 200 capacity ] ,and 120 of the groups devoted Hiroshima based fans.

After the first song, the concert settles into the classic independent small venue and closeness feel, which is a part of this level of Idol genre.

Their wotas are calm compared to some groups, who have at times had to tell their fans to calm down because they cannot hear.

This is a really fun group to watch ,and their fan base is starting to grow nationally now.

If you base your opinions of this group on the first song and the sound problems or even this venue,their Independent status , then you are cutting this group short. This group graduated from the same music school as Perfume and is rising up the ranks of Idol genre.

Watarirouka Hashiritai First Album

AKB48 sub-unit Watarirouka Hashiritai has a first album coming out on October 13 called “Rouka wa Hashiruna! (Run in the Corridor!) “.As part of their promotional campaign they will have a fan contest.

Watarirouka will be in partnership with Nico Nico Douga for this contest. In this contest anyone who has a Nico Nico Douga account can take part in, it is simple .You shoot video of yourself running down a hallway, and when you reach the camera, you have to say   “Rouka wa Hashiruna!  , then finish off your video in a way to impress the group and judges.

Deadline for contest entries is October 20 at midnight, and Nico Nico Douga will announce the videos on October 25.  The grand prizewinner of the contest will have their video shown at the Watarirouka live event at Tokyo Ebisu Garden Hall on October 31, and will be able to attend the show and meet the group there.

Once again AKB48 continue to show not only are they the industry leader, but a fun creative and pro fan franchise and their sales figures are reflecting their fan friendly promotions.

AKB48 : DIVA’s “Nakeru Basho” PV

The third track in the AKB48 Beginner CD is from the AKB Sub-unit DIVA.
and is titled “Nakeru Basho”. The PV features a group playing out their name a superstar unit, with "professional attitudes", that gives off an air of the fans being non-important to them. The PV is only 2:26 and it is likely only telling a small part of the story.

Beginner” will be the 18th single released by AKB48 on October 27 and will come in five different editions

SAMURAI ROSE

SMAURAI ROSE is the newest major idol group on the scene .What makes this idol unit so special is not that they all came from various occupations, such as   company presidents, nurses, chefs, homemakers. it`s the fact that of the 40 members that make up SAMURAI ROSE ,the youngest is 34 and the oldest is 58 .

That is right no more wishing that your mother, wife or grandmother were an idol , now she can be.

SAMURAI ROSE made their debut in February and has already had a second generation audition to reach the current 40 member level and on October 6 they will make their next step with a major single debut “Rouge to Martini“ . PRINCESS PRINCESS`S song “M” which they performed in front of 220 fans on October 2 at a major debut party event ,will be the coupling track.

The 48`s vs. Morning Musume: It`s On!

With so many idol groups out today, this was going to happen at some point .It happens regularly in the Independent ranks, so we shouldn’t be surprised that it`s about to happen with the female idol genre`s super powers.

What am I talking about you ask? Morning Musume by chance or strategic plan from the 48`s master mind Akimoto Yasushi find themselves releasing not one but two singles on the same day against the 48`s ,one is against AKB48 and one is against SKE48 , both by the way outsold Morning Musume`s 43rd single by wide margins in the last single cycle.

Battle #1

October 27,
Muten Musume will release “Appare Kaiten Zushi”
AKB48 will release the most  highly talked about,  eagerly awaited single this cycle “beginner”.

Morning Musume has lost this battle before it has even started, as of Saturday AKB48 has both “Ponytail to Shushu” and “Heavy Rotation” still charting on Oricon at 29th and 7th. “Ponytail” has sold 640,279 “Heavy Rotation” 653,576

So enter SKE48.

Hours ago SKE48 announced that their 4th single “1, 2, 3, 4, Yoroshiku” will be released on November 17th, the same date as Morning Musume`s 44th single “"Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game".

Again on paper the advantage goes to SKE48 .SKE48 3rd single “Gomen ne Summer” sold 92,645, compared to Morning Musume`s Seishun Collection at 40,865.

Morning Musume finds themselves in a no win situation in terms of release dates ,if they change dates ,the industry will view Morning Musume as running from not one, but two groups their junior in experience .This battle is one that Morning Musume from a fan base may not be prepared to wage . Yet they have no other choice but to fight.

Early signs are pointing to a wota battle between Morning Musume and SKE48. There are messages in the wota community of preparations and AKB48 fan support for SKE48 is likely.

The idol industry has known for sometime that this day was going to come. With the announcement that the 48`s are releasing on the same day as Morning Musume, the excitement about who will make Morning Musume`s 9th generation, is no longer important for now. Idol and wota pride is.


Of the two battles, I think Morning Musume has the best chance of winning against SKE48, which is why their fan bases have already started their fan message attacks and buying plans.

October and November will be filled with idol and wota pride, will the industry grow stronger from this? Yes, the only question is how prepared both sides agencies are to push the benefits of any good results into stronger results for their agency,group and the genre in the future.

Will Morning Musume defeat SKE48 or will the youngsters hold on to the position of #2 idol group behind AKB48?

SUPER☆GiRLS Get Major Debut

On October 2, the SUPER☆GiRLS held a special live at Tokyo SHIODOME-AX, called “SUPER☆GiRLS~ShiodomeAX fukkatsu! Surprise LIVE~.” During this live event, the girls were surprised with the announcement of their major debut.

While the members were performing, their staff made the surprise announcement of their major debut being an album, by dropping a banner from the ceiling on stage that said, “Major Debut Decided.”

As you could expect the second that the members of SUPER☆GiRLS discovered the sign, they immediately started crying and hugging each other.

SUPER☆GiRLS Leader Yasaka Saori offered some comments on the news by saying the following “I don’t think I’ve always been the calmest leader, but today I’ve become so emotional. I am just so happy! “Tanaka Mirei who had tears in her eyes added the following remarks “I had just assumed they were never going to make a major appearance”. Birthday girl Shimura Rika doing her best to fight off tears, commented I did not know about the birthday surprise either [members gave her a birthday cake on stage], so with these presents I am very happy. I will try my hardest from here on out!”

The youngest member, Maeshima Ami, said, “I couldn’t even understand it when the debut banner dropped down. Slowly my eyes just started to fill with tears. I will try my hardest for the SUPER☆GiRLS album! “

When asked about future rivals Yasaka and Maeshima announced that, “Everyone is our rival .Miyazaki Rina declared, “From the day we were formed our goal has been to beat AKB48! I think that they are everyone in the idol industry’s goal.

Up next for SUPER☆GiRLS is their first oneman [solo] concert ~Yume no Inryoku“, Harajuku Astro Hall in Tokyo. Followed by a free ticket mini concert tour starting November 3 called, “Itoyokado presents SUPER☆GiRLS Major Debut Kettei!”

ALBUM DETAILS,
“Chouzetsu Shoujo” will have 13 tracks and will be released in three different version:[Type A] is a CD regular , [Type B , C] are two different CD + DVD versions. The CD will contain the tracks “NIJIIRO Star ☆,” “Kizuna Days,” and “Be With You,” songs used in their live performances ,plus ten new songs.

The DVD will feature their debut music video and an audition video that shows interviews with the final members. The limited edition DVD version will come with a ticket to a handshake event, and a random photograph of the group (15 possible ones to collect).

The release date has been set for December 22

SKE48 Adds 16 And A Store

Since July, SKE48 has been undergoing 4th generation auditions for girls ranging between the ages of 11 and 22. Fourth generations were the largest to date for SKE48 as 5,888 entries were sent in. (1st generation: 2,670; 2nd generation: 3,248; 3rd generation: 2,396). The result was the addition of what could be a new team for SKE48 .The 16 new kenkyuusei are currently training and more details could come out in the upcoming SKE48 tour running from October 3 to 17.

SDN48 member, Fukuyama Sakura, has decided to leave the group and graduate from the entertainment business due to health concerns.

Both Sakura and their theater manager’s blogs have confirmed this news.

Fukuyama who hails from Niigata, has been suffering from an unannounced chronic illness for some time, dating back to her pre SDN48 days, due to the group’s continuous activities it was becoming more difficult for her to continue, resulting in a gradual decline in her health.

Fukuyama a 2nd generation member is one of the more popular members of SDN48 and was just recently selected as one of the senbatsu members for the SDN48 major label debut single, coming in at rank twelve.

According to the limited information released, her condition is such that she could collapse on stage at any given time and she has concerns that her collapsing on stage might cause trouble for everyone. Everyone around her inside SDN48 has given her strength to fight through this and the security to know that if such a fall should take place, it would be ok and the members would support her through it.

Sadly, her condition has reached the point that she must rest, if she ever has any hopes of returning to SDN48 and finishing her dreams.

I have always wanted to be in a profession where I could sing and dance, so I moved to Tokyo when I was in high school, but I couldn't seem to make my dream come true, and then this year I was finally able to fulfill the dream that I really, really wanted to do, and become a part of SDN48's 2nd generation.

Idols are unlike any other performing artist; they hide their pains, worries, and doubts with a smile on their face, so their fans will never feel disappointment. They have a specialness and bond with their fans that goes beyond sales figures.

It is often that this need to protect their fans from feeling disappointment, which results in this genre suffering great tragedies such as Okada Yukiko or the taking of health for granted.

Let us all hope that Sakura as she stated in her blog, will someday continue her dreams and return to the stage.

The date and performance for her graduation will be announced on the official SDN48 site as soon as they are decided.

AKBINGO! ,Beginner CM, Bokudake no value

Last night is AKBINGO! Episode was good and worth watching, it featured a couple of game segments and phrase museum.

Towards the end of the broadcast we had an extended preview of  "Beginner" and the under girls "Bokudake no value" video.
