AKB48 PSP Video Game To Be Released

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to date a member of AKB48? Well in December, you will get your chance, as AKB48 will release their own PSP “Dating Simulation” video game.

The game will be called AKB 1/48 Idol to Koishitara...  In 1/48 Idol to Koishitara  ,you will have the chance to win the heart of one member of AKB48 ,while rejecting the other 47 members advances on you , in order to secure your one true love’s heart.

The game includes over 10,000 pictures of the girls, 80 minutes of video showing the girls confessing their love to you, and full voice during dialogue sequences.

 The game will be released on December 23 through Bandai and will come in several editions.

I would say that I am surprised by this, if it were not for the fact that AKB48 are based in Akihabara and Akihabara idols are in their own little world. There are several Akihabara based idol groups that have anime  video games based on their unit theme, dating, be it maid cafe idols or regular idols.

 
As idols represent the “perfect girlfriend” to extreme wotas, this game falls right in line with the rest of the fantasy character world that idols create. Yes, idols are a music group, media and marketing service, they are also a fantasy world playing out characters for public enjoyment. After all, think about it, if one is playing out a real life wota fantasy game by being an idol, they may as well release one.

If your a hardcore wota ,who dreams of hearing your Oshimen say  I love you  ,or are a collector or really enjoy dating Sims ,then this is a must have for your collection.

Pre-Idols in NMB48 Audition

On a number of pro H!P fan sites a hot debate has been underway since the announcement that EGGS! Could take part in the Morning Musume auditions .What many fans  fail to see that #1 that is what the EGGS! Was created for to become  main unit idols and #2 former idols  that leave other groups  re-audition for other groups all the time .

One such group is NMB48  ,of the 106 that made it to the final stage several have pre-idol experience.

They are .

# 138 former member of H!P Kansai unit SI*NA  and  sister of Johnny’s recording artist Nakayama Yuma  , Nakayama Nana .

Saying things like “ pre trained  idols should not be allowed,” To take part in auditions because they are not fresh faces” is  just a fan opinion that is often very misleading  of idol history. We all enjoy the  brand new idol to support  ,however the truth is  that  groups like Idoling!!! ,AKB48 ,Momoiro Clover  and even past H!P units have had members that were pre idols, models ,child actor ,etc. The only rule is that you cannot be under a current contract with another group to audition ,there are no rules saying  an audition hopeful cannot be a pre-trained idol.

Several often are and most of these facts are seldom listed on their profiles ,yet it is a common event and some even receive a stage name ,birthdates ,hometown to separate them from their past  companies.

All girls pre-trained or untrained  have the right to better their career positions , no one wants to be a trainee their entire career .

Idol genre is a strange world of mystery and secrets at times  of shadow owners and who knows   that girl that you are rooting for in auditions ,just may have been an unannounced pre-trained idol ,whose  situation before didn`t work out as well as she had hoped .

Tokyo Idol Festival Broadcast

In August, I posted about the 30+-idol group, 8 venue Tokyo Idol Festival . The TV broadcast was aired recently and you can watch it here from the link at the end of the post.

TIF was an Idol Festival held on August 7-8 for Idol groups not in Hello!Project or with 48 after their name . In some ways, it was like Disneyland for wotas ,two days of Idol groups ,fan events , idol games and concerts .

There are 100`s of Idol groups and  agencies in J-POP Idol genre and most of us have nothing to do with H!P or the 48`s as a higher percentage of J-POP Idol groups and agencies are in the Independent ranks . Which has it`s own culture and ways of doing things and depend heavily [embrace] on wotas,active touring ,free events and festivals such as these along with regional, cable and satellite network programs .

Many of these groups are some of the best-kept secrets in Japan ,which is one reason why this event was started to showcase and promote these idols.

Some of the main groups at the festival that we have talked here on PIH were Idoling!!! , SUPER*GIRLS, Tokyo Girls` Style,Afilia Saga East and Momoiro Clover.

If your willing to give them a chance and experience this genre from outside of what H!P or the 48`s have to offer , there are some really some good groups at the festival and you will enjoy this broadcast.

By the way Idoling!!! Brought their sub units as well, so Idoling!!! Members show up several times. The girls also are part of special units under their management companies

NMB48 Audition Results Episode One

Episode one of NMB48`s, the Osaka based sister unit AKB48 new TV Tokyo show "Star Hime Sagashi-taro" aired yesterday .Early episodes will be following the NMB48 auditions.


The double Matsui`s of SKE48 [Reina and Jurina] served as co-hosts as episode one showed the 7,000+ audition hopefuls get reduced to the 106 that are shown at the end of the episode .Those 106 will result in the 20 girls that will make up the first roster for NMB48.

With a number of cute and fresh faces making the cut, do not be surprised if a few find their way on to AKBINGO! In the future.

AKB48 Janken Senbatsu To Air Live In

Because the interest in AKB`s Janken Tournament is so high, it will be simulcast in 29 theaters nationwide on 42 screens.

It will also be rebroadcast later in the day, for anyone who misses the live showing. Tickets for the theater broadcasts are 2,400 yen.

DREAM Comeback Single + Tour

Veteran JPOP group DREAM are in the middle of a rebirth , the group who have faced 10 long and difficult years ,have been given a new life under the guidance of the members of EXILE and their management firm LDH.

On October 6 DREAM will release "Ev’rybody Alright!," the follow up to their "reboot" single "My Way -Ulala-" .

DREAM since it`s debut in 2000 has struggled and failed to gain the same popularity that Morning Musume and AKB48 have reached in their peak times. This very talented group has had to endure two name changes "DREAM to DRM back to DREAM",a number of lineup changes and the worries of breakup ,yet continue to fight on.

While DREAM has struggled to gain and hold mainstream popularity ,the last few years may have been the darkest they have had to endure.

2007 DREAM looked as if they were at their end ,they had dropped to doing small venue lives , free street performances ,anyplace that would let them play in front of.

In 2008 ,DREAM changed their name from DRM to DREAM once again and closed their fan club. With everything looking dark for the group ,they get a break from EXILE leader HIRO ,who took over the management of the group through [LDH (Love Dream Happiness)] from Avex.

Under LDH they immediately went inactive ,to reinvent themselves and would not return for until almost a year later. September 9,2009 DREAM released their first hard disk single since 2005 ,with "Perfect Girls / To The Top" ,which was sold at a nationwide free show tour . The CD did not chart on Oricon, due to how it was distributed .

On March 1, 2010 they released "Breakout" again sold only at a free tour , after completing the free tour ,DREAM held a mini three show paid tour Dream Live Tour 2010 ~Road to Dream~. ,followed by an opening slot on Exile's FANTASY Tour.

On August 18, 2010, DREAM released its major label return debut single, "My Way~ULala~" [#29 on Oricon with just under 5,000 in sales] and now on October 6 ,DREAM will complete their rebirth with a new single and live house tour.

If there is one group that deserves a break and fan support it`s DREAM, they have earned it. This tour and upcoming single release could be the turning point in their career.

Another #1 For AKB48

AKB48`S Janken Senbatsu tournament guidebook has entered the Oricon book charts for performing artists at #1 with 59,000 sales.

With AKB48 having two active singles in the Oricon charts each over 600,000 in sales ,Heavy Rotation and Ponytail [top 30 for 15 weeks now] ,sub units with high sales , nationwide ads and AKB48 member designed snack cakes ,interest in AKB48 and other 48`s is at an all-time high.

NMB48 Get TV Show Before They Debut

The new yet to debut sister unit to AKB48 is getting a national TV show, even before they have a final lineup.

Starting September 11 on TV Tokyo NMB48 will have a TV show called "Star Hime Sagashi-taro" which will follow the NMB48 auditions.

The double Matsui`s of SKE48 [Reina and Jurina] will serve as show regulars. The Osaka based NMB48 will have final auditions September 21 and will start theatre performances in Osaka in November.

SDN48 Senbatsu Results

For several weeks now SDN48 [Saturday Night 48] have been conducting their own Senbatsu elections for their major debut release.

Results were collected from fan voting at Asahi TV mobile site, paid downloads of the 37 members photos and from visits to their blogs.

Momoiro Clover 28 Shop In Store Tour

To open their move to King Records, Momoiro Clover will go on an in store tour. Momoiro Clover will start their tour on September 19 and it will be called “Momoiro Clover Second Debut Tour Aki no Jin ~Tenka wo Torini Ikuze-! ~“
The tour will be the lead up to their King Records debut single “Pinky Jones”.

Pinky Jones will be released on November 10, and will include three songs. It will come in three different limited editions and a regular edition.

The CD contents are

1. Pinky Jones – Ending theme for the anime “Yosuga no Sora”

2. Coco ☆ natsu – Theme song for their movie “Shirome” (released on August 13)

3. XXX[To be announced] – will be used as theme song for a game (details will be revealed later)
