Musume`s 10th Gen`s Two Dorothy Little Happy Members
When I made my post on the Morning Musume 10gen auditions ,my time was limited and I rushed the post and in doing so I left out a very important bit of information .There is actually two members of Dorothy Little Happy back dancers in the final ten not one as I had posted earlier .
They are Ishida Ayumi and Tanaka Fuuka .In my rush to post, it slipped my mind that
Tanaka was the same Fuuka that we have grown to love as a supporting member of DLH.
It later came to me, when things settle down, lol.
Anyway, enough rambling .I thought that you would like to see the two and the other supporting members take over DLH Ustream show, so you can get a better feel for Ayumi and Fuuka.
You never like to see an Idol have to leave a unit, especially one that has just started her career. S/mileage has announced that due to a serious health condition Kosuga Fuyuka has had to withdraw from S/mileage.
Here is the official announcement that was posted on their web site
“Thank you for always supporting S/mileage. Due to S/mileage sub-member Kosuga Fuyuka’s poor health being brought to our attention, she underwent a careful examination at a hospital. According to the results of the exam, it was discovered that she has a problem with her blood composition. Due to her severe anemia, she must refrain from exercise and must undergo medical treatment for several months.
It is truly unfortunate, but her activities as an S/mileage sub-member will be cancelled for now, and she will focus on her treatment regimen. After she has completes treatment and her health returns to normal, we plan to have her start again as a member of Hello! Pro Egg.
Tsunku also added some comments on the situation
“What I was able to say to her was, ‘Please don’t over-do it, and devote yourself to your recuperation.’ When I asked her, ‘After your full recovery, you would be able to continue your lessons as a member of Hello! Pro Egg, but what would you like to do?” she replied, ‘I want to quickly get better and start over again as an Egg.’
She is still young, so I would like her to quickly regain her health and start again as an Egg with her wonderful smile.
The newly reborn S/mileage will go forward with the three original members and four sub-members. Everyone, please cheer for the girls!”
Health issues are taken very serious in Japan and when it comes to an idol, there is great concern and caring by fans of the groups and that of the idol.
Everyone even if your not an H!P fan offer your support in your own way for Fuyuka and hope that she can return to being an idol someday.
This is the dream of any fan, take idols from several units and put them in one movie.
Universal is releasing an idol cast movie called “Cheerfu11y” .The leads are Kikkawa Yuu and Hayami Akari .The support cast is made up of Passpo☆ members Tamai Anna, Anzai Naomi, Sakuma Kaho, and Mori Shiori. Up-Up Girls` Furukawa Kontasu and Mori Saki .From the Possible Akiyama Yurika and Goto Yuki and Canary Club’s Niwa Mikiho .Now all we need is Tsunku as director ,lol.
The movie is about these 11 girls and a broken statue .In order for the girls to pay for the damages they enter a cheerleading competition.
This is shades of the 80`s era idol genre, when idols from several agencies were cast in the same dramas.
The Morning Musume 10th generation auditions is down to the final ten and four of the ten have past non H!P experience of some kind including being a backing dancer for Dorothy Little Happy and one is an Egg.
The final ten are
Kudou Haruka [11[current H!P Egg] ,
Iikubo Haruna [16] , currently is an actress /model
Sato Masaki [12] ,her mom is a Musume wota . Has past industry work
Tashima Meru [11] ,she is raw and going into this with no skill training at all [I expect her to be an Egg] ,
Oogami Hinako [self claimed H!P wota] .
Miyagi Ayumi [11] she is a 6 yr dance school veteran .
Miwa Satsuki [12] was in the 9th gen auditions
Tanaka Fuuka [12] entered dance school at are 6 .[Post Edit -Is also a Dorothy Little Happy Back Dancer ,name just slipped through my fingers ,sorry DLH Fans ].
Murakami Sara [13] Sara like Meru has no past vocal training ,yet is a natural singer .Has past industry work
Ishida Ayumi [14] is a member of a Sendai based Indie Idol unit and backing dancer for Dorothy Little Happy and lastly Murakami Sara [13] .
Note -Has past Industry work = [Indie Idol, model, actress ]
Currently the wotas are supporting Haruka ,Haruna and Ishida Ayumi and Meru coming in 4th .
Sara I believe will appeal more to Western fans and that does not always translate well here domestically . However, Sara is an untrained natural singer and this could be an edge for her .
Ayumi`s background is with two units and is a clear choice for membership . Her main unit
As they are from the same company ,she serves as back dancer for Dorothy Little Happy.
Just how trained are the members and backing members of Dorothy Little Happy and why Ayumi would be the best choice as one of the members .
However, as we know from past experiences the clear choice is not always the one that H!P makes . With such a talented field ,it will be hard for Morning Musume not to have their future front girls grow stronger from this audition .Don`t fool yourself here ,Morning Musume is not auditioning for today , but for when the main girls graduate .Morning Musume is reloading to face the younger up and coming fresh faced idol units ,not to battle AKB48.
EDIT- I went back and double checked DLH roster hours after posting , because something was not letting this post rest and I am glad that I did .Tanaka Fuuka is also listed as a back dancer for DLH.
For this episode of fresh faces Indie Idol spotlight I wanted to do something special and give you the Indie live treatment. Therefore, I have acted as producer/promoter in this case and put together lives from a range of artists to make my own PIH concert special, lol, what I like to call “Indie Fresh Faces Concert Special Vol 1”
So get your glow sticks, your free tickets and come with me as I take you to the live houses of Japan’s underground Idols. In Indie lives, you often have between 5-10 acts performing in one night. The smaller the number of groups the more songs they play, these groups often perform about five songs each or a 2-3 hr block of rented time total for all groups. Some shows groups have a staggered number of songs that grows larger the higher up the show you are listed to 8-10 songs.
For this special post I have selected seven groups from across Japan that we have not done a full feature on or they had just a little preview. I have arranged the groups in my own promoter’s hat order in a way to give you a feel of a live event with an opener up to a headline host, so please watch each group in order to get the full live experience, lol.

[Units without a fulltime songwriter do mostly cover sets as they are D.I.Y. Idols and everything is run by the group from song selections to making costumes to sale of tickets. They take what they can afford and make to sale and do their best ,until a label picks them up.]

Most Idol units tend to wait until just before the release date before they hit their heavy promotion phase .Not Fairies, these young women are going into month number three of heavy pre-release promotions. In fact the list of what they are not doing is shorter then what they are doing both as a group and company .It has a feel of an AKB48 blitz promotion. Tokyo is becoming Fairyland.
It really is great to see a new unit put in such active work to get their name out there, of course it helps that they have two major companies funding them, Vision Factory and Avex.
Here is a look at their hard work and a reminder of just how young the genre is getting and why other companies are auditioning younger and younger members to keep up.

One of the areas of the genre we don`t get a chance to cover a lot ,due to time and a overwhelming number of groups out today is Seiyuu Idol groups.
Most Seiyuu units are short term and created just for a certain anime, others like Sphere and LISP” are just regular units created by Seiyuu who have generated a strong following in their field.
While these units are in many regards underground, I like to place an [*] by that term as many of the regular units sale or have sold when they were active as much or more then Morning Musume.
Therefore, they are underground in the terms that they center on a certain segment of fans, just as Indie Idols focus on pro-Indie wotas.
Therefore, here is a look at a few of the Seiyuu Groups active today [this by the way is not the entire list of groups]
Regular units
Sphere
This unit that we have covered early on in PIH and was pushed to the side unfairly by the amount of other units that needed to be covered.
When it comes to regular fulltime units Sphere is the leaders and have returned with a new upbeat single LET-ME-DO!!
LISP
Not far behind them is a new unit ,just a year old called LISP is made of the following members Asumi Kana, Kataoka Azusa, and Hara Sayuri and they had their first release in 2010. In April of this year they got their own TV show called LIS★P” [LIS Produce”] to go along with their once a month Nico Nico internet show [LISP Pajama Party].
RO-KYU-BU
A group that has popped up recently, that has the eye of Seiyuu Idol fans is RO-KYU-BU.
If you are an Up-Front company fan, you want to check out this unit as Yui from YuiKaori is in this unit.
Another week and this time Tsunku heads to the wota Disneyland of Akihabara .Akiba is a wonderful place for an Indie fan as the place is crawling with Indie Idols and soon to be Idols.
This week can be described as idols grab you off the street.
The ultimate dream of any fan it is to be captured by an idol while walking down the street. That didn`t happened, instead the targets were other idol groups .For the captured ones the punishment is to perform for Tsunku. Man an Idol cannot even enjoy a day off with Tsunku pulling you into his show.
We also have the returning feature of promote the Possible swimsuit DVD.
There is also Tsunku`s Idol pre-school as a bunch of 9-10 Idols have a late segment CM and find their inner diva.
If Tsunku wanted to keep doing this theme for a few weeks he could, Akiba is overflowing with Indie Idols.
Well it`s not often that you see member after member from a group go on “voluntary” suspension. NMB48 members Matsuda Shiori and Yoshida Akari have added their name to a growing list of 48`s stopping activities.
Matsuda -Said the reason she asked to be suspended was that, in her words “I began to think, ‘Until now I’ve been busy with work every day, but are my own behaviors living up to all my fans’ expectations?’ and ‘Is this really okay with me?’ These insecure feelings made me feel uneasy about continuing my NMB48 activities; I felt that I needed time to look over myself once more.”
She asked for fans to watch over her, until she makes her return.
Yoshida -Seems to be going through something that has been a part of my life at times, and anyone who performs music or anything in front of crowds for a living.
Yoshida-I have been having some doubts and anxieties within myself, and I felt as if I would not be able to face my NMB48 activities… Since I have never regretted becoming part of NMB48 and I – of course – love NMB48, I will be taking a break. I’d like to take a look at myself once more and come back with my original intentions.”
If it is the medical version of anxiety issues, I wish her the best in a speedy recovery, if it`s the classic, is this the right thing for me .Then I am glad that Aki-P talked to her and Matsuda as well and they didn`t make a rush choice to end idol life.
However, in saying that, at the very early stages of AKB48 and other big member units, there was a certain stage of the weak spirited members walking away, leaving the most dedicated to carry on.
I am not going to say that is what is happening only lets hope they find what is missing in their hearts and come back to the stage soon.
Footnote - There is another possible reason for the suspensions and more maybe coming from a really stupid move, between the girls and wotas in an unscheduled fan event.
I didn`t include this, as it has not 100% been proven the hotel event happened and simply reporting the official version as released at this time.
