SUPER☆GiRLS CELEBRATION

 Idol group SUPER GiRLS just released the PV to one of their songs from their album. Celebration, is SUPER GiRLS 3rd album, and it features many new songs, as well as old.

Is this really S☆G?!!! was my first thought when I saw the video. Their whole look is just so radically different than what it usually is, that I thought it was another idol group. The girls actually look like a mature group, and they remind me a lot of C-ute. Some of the members are even wearing pants and shorts! gasp. Many girls are also sporting new hairstyles. I'm really impressed with the dance, it looks pretty cool. It's not all cutesy like their dances usually are, in fact, the whole cute factor that S☆G is famous for is really turned down in this PV. The song is kind of catchy, at least the chorus is, it's not bad at all and reminds me of Hoshikuzu LOVE Song.

S☆G has really been in a huge slump in my opinion. I started out really liking the group, but when they began releasing single after single without much variety... well, they kind of lost my interest. But now, Celebration has spiked up my interest, and really makes me want to check out their album. If S☆G would release more songs like Tokimeki Shoku no kaze to kimi, MAX! Otome gokoro, and this, I think international idol fans would be more interested in them. Album releases February 20~

SUPER☆GIRLS PuriPuri♥SUMMER Kiss

SUPER☆GIRLS new summer single is out.
Since S☆G's last Summer single, MAX! Otome Gokoro was performed in bikini's, I have a feeling that they are going to copy follow the same trend that AKB48 does.

Firstly, there's a ton of fan service with all of the bikinis, butt shaking, and kissing the camera.  S☆G wota will go crazy.

The song can't get anymore typical idol sounding.
It's actually not a bad song; the chorus is the catchiest.



Usually, my reviews would end there but...

I'm going to be honest, I feel a little let down.
Their last summer single, MAX! Otome Gokoro was a summer single done right. It was fun and tasteful! Even with all of the fans service, I had so much fun watching it.

But PuriPuri♥SUMMER Kiss is too typical for my liking.  The girls are in bikinis, at the beach.

That is the definition of the stereotypical idol.

"The fan service is wasted on me as a female fan. For a bikini PV to impress me there has to be a lot of other elements than “look how sexy I look in this bikini."

It's wrong to compare, but look at AKB who added a little violence to their PV so that it could be different from their other summer PV's. Morning Musume's new summer single has an original concept. PASSPO☆ too, adding in a darker sound with NEXT FLIGHT.  And even Momoclo with PUSH.

My point is, SUPER☆GIRLS could have done so much more for their summer single than what PuriPuri♥SUMMER Kiss is.

A summer single doesn't have to include bikini's and a beach/pool scene, because every other idol does that. When there are 5 million groups out there doing the same thing, it's important to remain unique and original.

The positive aspects of the single are that we get to see the girls laughing, having fun, and acting silly. 

Sorry, this was longer than it needed to be.
I hope nobody thinks I'm bashing them.
 I love SUPER☆GIRLS, I just wish they'd get out of the whole "We want to be like AKB" phase and be themselves.

I hope their next single is better, and that it's like 1,000,000 Smile and Joshiryoku Paradise.

Cheeky Parade Debut

 According to Cheeky Parade's Offical Blog, The new IDOL STREET group has sold 5000 copies of "Cheeky Dreamer" and will now be officially debuting!

I have taken the time to listen to cheeky dreamer, and it is really better than I thought it would be!
This group has some of the most unique voices in any group I have ever seen, so I'm excited to see what they release after cheeky dreamer.

It's wrong to compare, but I can't help but feel like I'm going to end up liking Cheeky Parade more than SUPER☆GiRLS. It's hard to judge a group by only 4 songs, but I've found myself liking Cheeky Dreamer and it's other 3 tracks more than some of SUPER☆GiRLS's releases. Plus, the choreography for cheeky Dreamer is just fun and wild!

SUPER☆GiRLS Get Influenza Shutdown

Idol groups are known to be shut down for a number of reasons, number one on that list is poor sales, but you seldom see an idol group go into sickness quarantine.

SUPER☆GiRLS have had 11 live fan events scheduled over three days canceled because  group members have been diagnosed with Influenza B and as such the group and staff members have had all events canceled for  quarantine and treatment .

A recent doctors examinations determined that Yasaka Saori, Kanou Kaede, and Maeshima Ami, along with few of the staff members have come down with Influenza B .

SUPER☆GiRLS will make up all events that have been cancelled in support of “1,000,000☆Smile“, their newest release when the girls have made a full and rested recovery.

The full PV for SUPER☆GiRLS 4th single is finally out! I've been waiting a long time to see it!
Between when I posted the preview and now, the song has completely grown on me and I love it!

But what impressed me the most was my wish came true: In last part of the video  Hikari and Ruka were moved to the front!
I was a bit upset that Ami (who get's way too much attention as it is) and Rina were in the front during the whole dance while the other members were pushed to the back.
 But having Hikari and Rika doing their crazy dance in the front for a short while made me smile! It surprised me, and I hope they keep rotating the members instead of keeping the attention on only one or two people.

This is the best thing that SUPER☆GiRLS have ever released.

SUPER☆GiRLS [1,000,000☆Smile] Short PV

In the past, I posted a short radio preview of SUPER GiRLS new PV, 1,000,000☆Smile. Avex uploaded a short preview of their new PV on their channel.



My opinion still hasn't changed. I still think the song is a little generic, a bit mainstream, but I do actually like the song a bit better after seeing the PV! It has it's charms! The PV is absolutely gorgeous! All of the flowers, and the whole set, it just looks really nice. All of the members look and the outfits look really cute! The idea of having a flower cafe is genius.

The dance is a bit too simplistic, but a high paced dance wouldn't really work well with this song would it.
I'm a bit annoyed at the two girls in the front. Ami and Rina. They remain there in almost all of the dance parts while the rest of the members are in the back. I don't mind certain girls being in the front, as long as they change the formation once in a while. But here, it looks like those two girls are the attention of the PV for some odd reason. I hope in the second part of the dance (which we can't see yet) they change places with other girls.

Although they don't really have variety in their singles, I'm so proud of SUPER☆GiRLS, who continue to step it up with every release they do.Release date is April 18th.

SUPER☆GiRLS 1,000,000☆Smile preview

Here's a short preview of SUPER GIRLS fourth single, 1,000,000☆Smile. It'll be released on April 25th.



I really dislike the mainstream we've-heard-this-type-of-song-1 million-times type of music that idol's frequently put out. But this song is alright, and actually kind of catchy. (especially the "waratte waratte" parts) I just wish they'd have more variety in their singles, and not just their albums; and I guess that's why I don't 100% love SUPER☆GiRLS.

I hope nobody minds that I'm giving my opinion. From past SUPER☆GiRLS posts that I've written, you can probably tell that I'm a little bitter towards them. But that's just because I don't fully agree on their musical choices. This single makes me smile (no pun intended!) and it makes me think of happiness, and sunshine. Is this their best single? Well, that's for you to decide! (I don't want to do a whole review either since I haven't listened to it that much.) I think it sounds like an album filler. But this is a good song to listen to when you are feeling down!

The girls have really improved in their dancing and synchronization!
The song is very catchy, but not very original.

Avex Idol unit SUPER☆GiRLS have declared revenge on a venue of all things. On February 5 2012, SUPER☆GiRLS will be holding a revenge concert at Nippon Seinenkan. Nippon Seinenkan was to be the site of their debut concert; however, the event was cancelled due to low-ticket sales. Since that time, the group has made tremendous gains in the industry and is set to return to the building in triumph.

Group leader Yasaka Saori recently expressed the feelings of the group about their revenge concert.

“In January, it was canceled because of our lack of power, but this time, we want to show our growth!”

This special opening feels like the Olympics for Idols, and for fans of shows with a lot of idols you could not be happier with this program.

Idoling!!! , Berryz Koubou, S/mileage, SDN48, Passpo☆, and more are here ,in fact there are more idol legs here then a hardcore wota can stand lol.

Key points of the show
We have a Berryz beaten up in the name of comedy [will not spoil it by saying who].

The show barely gets started before S/mileage takes the gloves off and starts a near battle with their elders, and then SDN48 throws down the lingerie so to speak as the idols of sexiness declare the throne that S/mileage and others seek.

In part three Passpo☆ and SUPER☆GiRLS get into a heated after game fight.

In the end, only one group will get to promote their song at battles end.


Idol fans, get your glow sticks, member color towels and wave them proudly as the battle has started and young S/mileage and others have come to battle and aim to win.

It`s been forever since I have written about SUPER☆GiRLS .This unit just keeps getting better and better each month and if Avex really wanted to they could push this unit to the moon with their resources at hand. Instead Avex is letting them grow at a healthy and steady pace, and it`s starting to show in the girls work.

SUPER☆GiRLS are back on PIH with a new single and video.

The single and PV is called “Joshiryoku←Paradise“, and tells the story of a girls global cosplay summit for the power of women.

Each member carries a different cosplay theme along with a group costume that has a palace guard’s type theme . Alternatively, if you like a normal evening with idols attire, lol.

The song ,music and PV is very uplifting and has a great tempo ,that you will get into right away and hit replay a few times to take it all in.

The single hits the stores on October 5 and the DVD will be their debut concert held last year.

It`s that time of the year again, when the idol world below the 48`s and H!P come together with over 30 idol units[final lineup should be near 50] for a multi day Idol festival  [Wota Heaven] .

The first lineups are out and is tradition the main acts get first billing .

Idoling!!!, Sakura Gakuin, The Possible, SUPER☆GiRLS, Tokyo Joshiryu, Vanilla Beans, Fudanjuku, Passpo☆, and YGA.

This year’s theme is “Eco & Smile” and will be an eco-friendly festival ,while bringing more need to the sufferers of the Tohoku Earthquake.

To live up to this theme power will come from private generators and there will be disaster relief projects that the idols will undertake.

One light hearted moment took place during the press conference when Sakura Gakuin`s Mizuno Yui was asked a difficult question , however the ever smiling idol stepped up to the situation and answered with “I’ll ask my teacher,” and ran over to their manager.

The festival will kickoff at Shinagawa Yoshimoto Prince Theater  on August 24,25,26 and will continue on August 27 and 28

Idol groups Idoling!!!, ℃-ute, 9nine, SUPER☆GiRLS, AeLL are coming together to perform on the same stage for two nights only as part of a fashion event called “Japan Girls Meeting 2011”. As part of the event, the groups will perform on stage in individual mini lives. The live event will from May 21 to 22 at the Tokyo EPSON Shinagawa Aqua Stadium.

“MAX! Otomegokoro will be the theme song for the Ito Yogurt CMs “Koi☆Mizugi” and “Koi☆Yokui“ .While Happy GO Lucky!~Happy☆Lucky de GO!~ will be the ending theme song to the anime “Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream“.
