SKE48 New TV show - "Itte Koi 48"

Taking advantage of their first Oricon no. 1 hit single "Banzai Venus", SKE48 is wasting no time to ride the momentum as they have a new regular TV show "ItteKoi48", which begins airing  1st May 2011 on TV Kanagawa (TVK), every Sunday from 11:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m..

So rather than limiting themselves in Nagoya, where SKE48 are basing their activities, this show will aid SKE48 to be more recognizable to a wider audience and taking them one step closer to becoming major national idols.

The 30-minute weekly show limited to only SKE48 members, will be hosted by comedians Arino Shinya(Yoiko) and Kuro-chan (Yasuda Dai Circus) whom are both well reputated in the showbiz as a expert on idols. I am not sure about Kuro-chan but I do know that Arino has been regularly invited to TV talk shows that discusses idol topics or is idol-related.

This is significant because apparently this show is not your regular AKB studio variety show with comedic games and outdoor shootings, but rather a documentary style reality show. ItteKoi48 aims to showcase a different and natural side of the girls' personality, as opposed to what we normally see when they perform on stage in their concerts.

The SKE48 members will need to depend on every ounce of their own abilities and on the critiques and advises of the two hosts to make this show work. The members will take part in the show in rotation, starting with Kizaki Yuria & Kinoshita Yukiko(Team S), Matsumoto Rina & Goto Risako (Team K II) and Isohara Kyoka (Team E).

Sounds like a show that has a more serious undertone, but is interesting nonetheless. Perhaps in time, they will get a golden hour timeslot like AKB48 did, if this show becomes a hit.

SKE48 Takes #1 On Oricon With Big Sales

AKB48`s little sisters [in performance yrs] SKE48 has followed in the high heels of their big sisters by taking the top spot in the Oricon Daily sales chart by a wide margin.

SKE48’s “BANZAI Venus” took the #1 position in the Oricon Daily Singles chart by selling 163,208 copies on their first day of release. When you look at the second and third places, it becomes clear how one-sided and impressive this was for SKE48.

NYC’s “Yume Tamago” was number two with sales of 52,785 and Momoiro Clover’s “Mirai Bowl” was next at 18,307 matching almost their first week totals for “Pinky Jones“.

While it is fair to say that some of their success is due to being in the 48 family, the truth is the song is just a better song. It also helps when you invite fans and townspeople to be in the video, the results will always show in sales.

SKE48: Ships 300,000 Copies of Banzai Venus To Stores

SKE48 has shipped 300,000 copies of their new single "Banzai Venus" to stores .Should With advance shipments of 300,000 "Banzai Venus" looks set to be their breakout single. Are we now seeing SKE48 starting to rise up to be a challenge to their big sisters AKB48?

"Banzai Venus" hits the stores on March 9 and will come in ‘Regular Edition A’ (CD+DVD), ‘Regular Edition B’ (CD+DVD), and an exclusive ‘CD-only theater version’ that can only be purchased at one of SKE48’s theater performances.

The coupling track is “Ai no Kazu” (by ‘Team KII‘).
Type A-will contain “Sotsugyoushiki no Wasuremono”, while ‘Regular Edition B’ will include “Dareka no Sei ni wa Shinai”. Both Regular Editions will include a ticket to a handshake event, and a random trading card featuring one of the members.

Yesterday, I told you about SKE48 getting a national pizza ad campaign for their new single “BANZAI Venus“, today I bring you the full video.

Last month SKE48 did a public casting call for citizens to come out and help them with their PV shoot .As a result 1,000 citizens turned out to support SKE48 and a fun time was had by all.

SKE48: Ready For Some Pizza [Nat Endorsement] +PV Preview

SKE48 has landed their first national endorsement with a thirty-second CM support song for Pizza Hut's new “Hot Value Series.” SKE48 will be featured in a national campaign ad demonstrating how warm and gooey the cheese on the pizza is during the CM.

SKE48 will support this ad with their upcoming single “Banzai Venus.”

SKE48 members are known to be pizza lovers, Matsui Rena expressed her feelings for the new campaign by saying “Just imagining you fans enjoying your pizzas and SKE48 cards makes me feel a warm happiness.”

Pizza Hut’s “Hot Value Series” will be available beginning March 7, while the CM will begin broadcasting in the first week of March. Those who purchase an item from this new menu will receive an exclusive SKE48 trading card .
